A Message from Fluent Chair Sharlene Goobie

LEAN – The Power to Transform Your Business

A LEAN culture empowers people to make a difference. A LEAN culture promotes work procedures that are efficient and productive, and as a result, people enjoy coming to work. LEAN creates solid robust processes that make life easier for everyone.A key concept in LEAN is to build LEAN champions; this will provide the foundation to build a LEAN culture within your organization.  As the internal LEAN champion for my organization I ran five kaizen events. The kaizen events show improvements in employee morale, quality, delivery to customer and a decrease in costs. The employees are very engaged as they see themselves as making changes for the better in the various departments as well as for the company as a whole. My vision as the new chair is to focus on building the leadership and culture within Fluent member companies.  As members of the Fluent, we have a wealth of resources at our fingertips. It is important to promote the utilization of these resources to ensure we are actively engaged in LEAN to better overcome the daily challenges faced by many organizations. At the end of any business day, organizations would want to ensure we are operating as efficiently as possible, providing a better quality service to their customers, decreasing costs and increasing safety and employee morale. This is all possible with LEAN!!!
